Support Jill's Household During Recovery
Donation protected
4/25/2025 Update: I spoke with Jill yesterday, and she had great news to share! Her Dr. was impressed with how well she is doing and the amount of walking she is getting in daily. It is not typical for those with this kind of surgery to heal/be as able bodied as she is, so quickly.
However, the best news she received was from her employer. She was hired for the supervisor position she had applied for! Which means she no longer has to deliver mail/cover a route and she will be in the office working. Meaning she was also cleared to return to work since her job no longer requires manual labor which does not risk her recovery!
God is SO good and faithful, and what a provider we have in Him! Glory and praise to Him for upholding Jill during this time. Thank you all for your donations and support/prayers.
4/14/2025 Update: Jill is doing well in her recovery. She has been following her restrictions and taking things easy. She has been able to get some light walking in, daily, as well which has helped with recovery. However, Jill was informed last week that due to the condition of her spine, the Dr. is thinking he won't lift restrictions for an entire 12 months. As you can imagine, this was hard news to receive. Continued prayers and support are so appreciated.
Update: Jill is home and recovering. Her headaches have subsided, but she still has some nausea. She is also still having pain, but it is manageable.
They want to thank everyone who has donated so far or have helped in other ways. They cannot express the amount of gratitude they have.
I also should have prefaced this when I created the gofundme page, but Jill does NOT have short term disability through her employer. It is not something they offered per her contract. So, she is not collecting or benefitting from any other source of supplementation. Every donation is the only support she has during this time.
She has also found out that it is a possibility that her employer will not hold her position for her. So, when her recovery is over, it's possible she will not have a job to return to. Prayers, above all else, are so appreciated during this time. We know our Holy Father is enough, and we know He is good. We know that He is faithful and will carry them through, and provide for them the next 4-6 months. If you feel compelled to give, they are more than grateful for it. :)
Hello,
My name is Caitlin and I am writing on behalf of my aunt, Jill.
Jill had surgery on 12 March 2025 for a herniated disc. Jill had to have the disc fused due to the type of rupture that occurred.
Surgery went as planned and Jill did well during surgery. When they initially went in, they did find that her spine needed to be realigned, so that was done by placing 2 small rods in addition to fusing the disc.
Her recovery has been going well. Her pain is minimal and able to be controlled with some OTC pain relief. She has been battling some nausea and headaches, but we are hoping that subsides with some time.
She will be starting physical therapy in 4-6 weeks.
She will be unable to return to work for 4-6 months. This is where they are asking for your support.
Jill's mom, Sharon (my grandma) and her son, Garrett (my cousin) live with Jill. She is the sole income for their household, so as you can imagine there is a lot of fear and unknown with being unable to work for 4-6 months.
Your support would help with monthly expenses, allowing for Jill to heal without any extra worry about the future or how they are going to pay their bills for the next 4-6 months.
Any amount that you are able to give would be extremely helpful and the amount of gratitude they have for anyone willing to help, cannot be put into words. If you are unable to help financially, they would love your prayers over healing, and the unknown of the next few months.
Thank you for coming alongside them in a time of need.
