Hi!
I'm Sara, Jill's daughter, this is odd for us as we never thought we would have to make a GoFundMe. However, we find ourselves at a time when we realize it's okay to ask for help sometimes especially when you're going through one of the toughest situations of your life. My mom is staying with me in San Francisco receiving treatment for cancer. Right now this is her fulltime job...radiation 5 times a week and chemotherapy once a week. This should be no surprise to you, but she is stronger and more positive than ever. I believe that positivity is what's making this treatment work so well! Unfortunately, expenses are stacking up and that's why my mom needs a little help. She cannot wait to be cancer free and get back to hustling like she does! But for now she's got to focus on treatment and recovery.
Below are some words from my Mom:
Friends , Family, and Clients,
Thank you for taking the time to visit this site to help during my challenging journey.
If you are wondering where I have been for months, I will tell you that life has thrown me a curveball.
I wasn’t well at the beginning of the year through many tests on Kauai and Oahu. It turns out I have cancer. I am lucky it’s not worse, but still very serious. My doctors advised me to go to UCSF for my type of tonsil cancer. I'm so grateful and held onto this miracle that UCSF accepted me and said my insurance approved it. It was like having an out of body experience like I wasn’t there in the room when I was told. This meant I had to leave everything behind and at the time I was really working hard to get my unemployment check due to me since November 4, 2020. This was during the peak pandemic when I was looking for work trying to do everything I possibly could. Right now, I am so fortunate to have family here along with my kids for support. I still have my house and all my monthly expenses on Kauai, which I have to take care of while I also support myself here in San Francisco. It has been very tough to
manage along with my cancer treatments. Parts of my insurance are not able to cover a small part of my treatment as well.
I have radiation 5 days a week and chemo once a week. I'm concentrating on my positive attitude. I'm power walking daily to keep my body fit for beating this cancer. I have learned so much about life and for me to embrace it, to give me more power for healing.
All donations will only be used for Jill’s emergency needs and medical only. My daughter Sara has been making sure I'm secure and who has my hand to take care of me. Times are so hard for all of us. Just having your prayers close to me means the world. Anything you can do is much appreciated!! MUCH ALOHA!
Here are some pictures of the mask I have to wear during the radiation at UCSF.
