Support Jiji in His Recovery Journey

Thanks for taking the time to learn about Jiji. Next Friday May 9th will be Jijis gotcha day and we have been blessed to spend the past 12 years with him. Jiji has been experiencing balance issues so he saw a neurologist on Tuesday for a consult and on the same day had an MRI and Spinal Tap. When we picked him up he still seemed heavily sedated but we're told he was fine and would recover just some cats take 24-48 hours to filly come out of anesthesia. We took him home and after hours of waiting we decided to call the clinic and were told to bring him back in and to the ER. He was admitted and is now unable to to move his limbs (paralysis). They don't know what exactly caused the complications from the procedures so we don't have a firm diagnosis or prognosis but we're told that if he's given time there is a chance he will improve. We want to give him time but it's quite a financial burden we were not expecting.

How funds will be used

We were expecting the cost of the MRI and testing but we have already maxed out our $7000 care credit balance and have put down a deposit for an additional $1502.76 when he was admitted to the ER. Hospitalization is $1800 per day so giving him time is increasing the amount we owe. Once we are able to bring him home we will also need to provide him things we currently do not have such as diapers, an orthopedic bed, bedding, pee pads, consultation for at home care to learn how to take care of him and therapeutic /PT resources to help him be comfortable and heal.
