Support Jhane Hoang's Fight Against Stage 4 Cervical Cancer

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to share the recent journey of our beloved Jhane, who is currently facing an incredibly difficult time. During the holiday season of 2024, she was hospitalized due to severe pelvic pain. Just days later, she was rushed back to the ER with excruciating pain from an unexplained injury.

After extensive testing, doctors discovered the cancer had metastasized spreading to her bones and causing additional tumors. The disease had weakened her femur so severely that it resulted in a snapped tendon and a fracture. To prevent further damage, she underwent surgery on January 23rd to have a rod placed in her femur. Jhane will then begin localized radiation therapy in a few weeks to target the cancer near her femur, followed by immunotherapy. If immunotherapy is not effective in eliminating the cancerous tumors, she will have to undergo chemotherapy—a grueling but necessary step in her fight against cancer.

For years, Jhane has shared her passion for photography, capturing special moments for others in her community. She moved from New York to Houston to be closer to her parents and help her brother care for their father by helping manage his dialysis and medical needs. Now, following her surgery, her brother Tom has stepped in to care for both their father as well as support Jhane as she recovers.

Jhane is resilient and will fight this disease head on. She is one of the most giving people and the type of person that puts others before herself, but now she needs our help. As a freelance photographer, Jhane can no longer work, making the financial burden of her medical care overwhelming. Though she receives some state medical assistance, it only covers a portion of her expenses. She will need help covering deductibles, x-rays, scans, anesthesia, and other treatments not fully covered by her medical aid. Additionally, she struggles with everyday living expenses without her income from photography. Alleviating these financial burdens will allow her to focus on her recovery with less stress.
