Our History and Idea

Since 2018, the Centro Cultural Judaico Rua da Judiaria & JCC Lisboa has been a beacon of Jewish heritage in Lisbon. We revived the Rua da Judiaria—Lisbon’s last medieval Jewish site—transforming it into a vibrant space for education and celebration. Through events like Reverse Tashlich and public Sucot festivals, we’ve fostered dialogue and preserved Sephardic culture despite challenges like assimilation and historical segregation. Now, we’re launching this campaign to bring "The Koren Talmud Bavli," a 42-volume masterpiece, to our center, enhancing our educational mission with its accessible, illustrated, and scholarly approach to Talmud study.
