Support Jett Owsley's Fight Against DIPG

On Monday, February 24, 2025, our sweet, energetic, little boy, Jett Owsley, was rushed to the ER, where doctors discovered something no parent should ever have to hear—a tumor was growing on his brain stem. The tumor has been confirmed to be DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a rare and aggressive tumor with no known cure.

Since the diagnosis, Jett has been on a long road of radiation treatments. These brought with them their own complications. He had to get a PICC inserted into his right arm so he could be sedated for each and every treatment. Once the treatment started, Jett lost all movement on the left side of his body. He has lost the ability to walk and can no longer use his left hand, which was extra difficult as Jett is left handed. But he fought on. Then he began experiencing severe migraines. He was prescribed steroids and a myriad of other pain medications which combined, caused his little body to puff up and put on nearly 20 lbs., but Jett fought on. The migraines continued however, and at our pushing, the doctors did an MRI. They discovered that Jett’s tumor had swollen, an expected result of the radiation, however the swelling was such that it was blocking the flow of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) creating immense pressure inside his little skull, a condition known as hydrocephalus. The doctors performed emergency brain surgery and did a procedure known as ETV, where they put a hole in his brain allowing the CSF to drain out naturally. And through all of this, Jett flight on.

After 7 long weeks, Jett has finally finished his radiation treatments and is moving into the next chapter of his care, a clinical trail. The trial that accepted Jett and gives us, Jett’s parents, the hope for the best outcome and extends his life the longest is located in Chicago. Jett begins the trial the first week of July and will require Jett to be in Chicago for six weeks with follow up appointments every two weeks.

As one might imagine, the back and forth travel, and the amount of missed work will create an overwhelming financial burden. No parent should have to choose between being by their child's side and paying the bills.

This is where we come together. Jett needs you. We need you. Every single donation—big or small—will go directly toward Jett’s medical care, travel expenses for treatment, and helping us, his parents, stay by his side without the crushing weight of financial stress. If you can’t donate, please share Jett’s story and keep him in your prayers.

Jett is a fighter. And with your love, support, and generosity, we can help him fight with everything he has.
