Jet needs your help!

Hello friends,

Jet, my good boy, has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Prior to being diagnosed with hip dysplasia, Jet was rushed to three hospitals all within less than 24 hours.

Our first visit was at New England Animal Medical Center. I shared with the doctor that he was playing in the backyard with his brother. As I was watching them, Jet ran towards the corner of the yard, tripping over auto parts, resulting in a dislocated hip.

After several hours of attempting to realign his hip, the doctor recommended we have Jet undergo FHO surgery at VCA South Shore Hospital. We went to VCA, and Jet stayed overnight. I received updates on him the next morning. That morning, I spoke with the doctor at VCA and was updated that Jet had two options: to receive FHO or a total hip replacement. The best option for him to have more of a normal life after this would be to have a hip replacement. The best surgeons with a high success rate were located at Tufts in Grafton. So off we go.

Jet was checked in, and the doctors explained the options of treatment, and I went with the full hip replacement. Jet stayed at Tufts over the weekend, then had a fever. His surgery was scheduled for that following Monday. As his stress levels decreased, he managed to recover before his surgery, which was a success. Recovering for four days, Jet's right leg resulted in knuckling, which improved before being discharged from Tufts. I was able to take him home after a week of this incident. We are now improving on the knuckling of his right leg and going into this recovery process positively. I was able to cover the costs to ensure the best treatment for Jet.
