Support Jesus Gomez's Family in Medical Crisis
Donation protected
Jesus Gomez is a police officer in the Reno area whose family is facing a medical hardship. His wife currently is facing major medical issues. She was originally diagnosed as an infant with Dextro-Transposition of the Great Arteries or d-TGA. Then this summer was diagnosed with congestive heart failure along with mild mitral regurgitation severe tricuspid regurgitation and an atypical right bundle branch block. There are several risk factors with this condition both short term and long term.
The insurance company is refusing to consider the surgery as "in-network" at Stanford University and they are currently in the appeal process. If the appeal is unsuccessful this surgery and treatment could cost more than $250,000. Either way this surgery will be costly for the Gomez family because of the high deductible of $10,000. On top of that his wife will be out of work for 4-6 months and the expenses for his family with travel/lodging at Stanford will be costly. They also have two young children ages 3 and 6 who will need childcare during these months of recovery.
Jesus Gomez is a proud and humble man and was extremely hesitant to seek help. With the support of his team and friends we convinced him to reach out to his law enforcement family and friends for help. At his request he wanted the donation amount to be the least amount necessary. So, we decided on the amount of $10, 000. This money would be a godsend to this great family.
