A heartfelt appeal for Jesus Felix. Dear friends, family and compassionate hearts My name is Jeremy Dodge and today I write with a heavy heart about a dear friend who is fighting a battle no parent should ever have to face alone. His name is Jesus Felix - a devoted father, a hardworking man and someone who has always put his family first, even as his own body is failing him. Jesus is a father to one son and three beautiful daughters. Every single day, he carries the weight of providing for them, loving them and being their rock. But for the past two years and 7 months Jesus has been battling stage 4 renal disease. He spends 12 hours a day, every single day of the week, hooked up to a dialysis machine just to stay alive. That’s half his life spent in treatment- time stolen from playing with his children, helping with homework or simply being present for the moments that matter most. He still pushes himself to work until exhaustion sets in, refusing to let his family down. But lately, the fatigue has grown heavier. The man who once powered through anything for his kids now finds himself increasingly drained, his body slowly wearing down under the relentless demands of his disease. Watching him fight so hard while smiling for his children breaks my heart. He doesn’t complain. He just keeps going- for them. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to look into your children’s eyes knowing that every extra day you fight is a gift you’re giving them. To the mothers reading this: imagine the fear of wondering who will braid your daughters hair or comfort her after a nightmare if you’re too weak to get out of bed. To the fathers: imagine the quiet ache of knowing your son looks up to you as his hero, yet your own strength is slipping away. Jesus lives with that reality every single day. His children need their father-strong, present , and healthy- for years to come, every act of kindness no matter how small gives him more time with his children who call him dad. All funds raised will go toward medical expenses, bills, food, housing, and transportation for Jesus and his family, helping them stay afloat during this difficult time.
