My name is Cathy Flores, and I am asking for help for my stepfather, Jesus Estrada, who has raised me like his own since I was very young. This past Wednesday, Jesus was detained by ICE while attending a scheduled appointment related to a DUI from last year. Since then, our family has been struggling emotionally and financially, because he is the main provider for our household. After his DUI, Jesus took full responsibility. He attended every required appointment, completed all assigned programs, and worked hard to better himself. He has lived in the United States for over 20 years and has always been a hardworking, humble, and caring man.

One of the clearest examples of who Jesus is happened on my graduation day. He came straight from work, still in his work clothes, just to be there for me. He has never cared about appearances when it came to showing up for the people he loves. He always puts others before himself. Even while detained, he continues to think of other families. He called my mom and asked her to help find another inmate's wife so they could reconnect. That is the kind of person he is, even in the middle of his own hardship.

Right now, we are deeply worried about his safety and treatment while he is detained, and the conditions have been extremely difficult. Our family is doing everything we can, but we cannot manage this alone. The funds raised will help us work toward securing his release and keeping our household stable during this painful time.
