Hi. I am Holly, Jessi's younger sister. She has just received devastating news that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow that occurs when the marrow produces abnormal myeloid cells that fail to mature properly. These immature cells, called blasts, multiply rapidly and crowd out healthy blood cells, leading to issues such as anemia, infections, and bleeding. Because AML develops and progresses quickly, it is considered an acute leukemia and typically requires prompt medical treatment, which may include chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and sometimes stem cell transplantation.

I believe in my sister and her strength. I want her to concentrate on getting better. We brought her to Chicago for the best medical treatment because the medical centers in Iowa (where she, her husband, and son reside) were not equipped to treat her.

2025 has been hard. She lost her dog of 12 years in September. Had been feeling sick after that, got a new physician and then had bloodwork run and now here she is.

This GoFundMe is to help her have the things she needs during her chemo treatments and during her stay here in Chicago, help for travel for her husband and son to come visit her, and help with the bills so he can take time off work and be by his wife’s side while she endures an aggressive chemo treatment. Scary times and she needs all the support she can get.

If you have ever been blessed enough to know my sister, you would know she is the sweetest soul in the world. I was always the “bad one.” She was good as a kid to my parents, an amazing big sister to me all my life, she’s an amazing friend to many, she’s just all around one of the most amazing people you could ever meet. I hate that she is going through this. Although I wish I could be there in the hospital every day with her, it’s not humanly possible. She does need her husband and son to visit as well.

Anything donated is so, so, so much appreciated, especially in this holiday season that she won’t be able to celebrate at home but in the oncology ward.
