Story

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters. Hi, we’re Basia and Sarah. Our two kids are best friends with Seraphina, one of the four incredible children James and Jessie Mae raised together. On June 26th, James passed away after a brave battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife Jessie Mae and their four beautiful children: Evangeline (14), Quinn (12), Seraphina (9), and Lucien (6). We’re heartbroken for Jessie Mae and the kids. James was the kind of dad who showed up. He was present, patient, and poured everything he had into his wife and kids. He was also a passionate member of the Los Angeles EUC community, always eager to connect, ride, and share what he loved. Now, we want to show up for them. This fundraiser is here to help Jessie Mae and the kids with the day-to-day groceries, bills, anything that eases the weight just a little while they figure out how to move forward without him. James and Jessie Mae’s kids have been a part of the Roscomare Road Elementary community for years. Seraphina is heading into 5th grade, and little Lucien will be starting 1st. Their older siblings, Evangeline and Quinn, both graduated from Roscomare Road and are now part of the Paul Revere Charter Middle School community. This family has always been part of ours, and right now, they need all the love and support we can give. If you're able to contribute, it would truly help them during this difficult time.
