Over the last several months, I have been walking through one of the hardest journeys of my life after being diagnosed with cancer. Since then, my days have been filled with chemotherapy treatments, doctor appointments, scans, procedures, exhaustion, uncertainty, and trying to hold myself together for my family while continuing to work and care for others. Many people know me as a nurse, hospice and palliative care liaison, coworker, friend, or mom. My career has always centered around helping others during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Asking for help for myself is not easy.

As I prepare for my upcoming surgery on June 26, I am facing not only the physical and emotional weight of recovery, but also the financial burden that comes with it. Between medical expenses, travel, medications, time away from work, and everyday bills, the stress has become overwhelming. This surgery is an important step in my treatment and healing journey, but recovery will require time for my body to heal properly. During that time, I will have limited ability to work, which adds even more uncertainty for my family and me.

If you feel led to help, any donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward medical expenses and treatment costs, surgery and recovery-related needs, household bills during healing, and helping ease the financial stress while I focus on recovery.

If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser, praying for me, checking in on me, or simply continuing to support and encourage me means more than I can ever put into words. I also want to say thank you. Thank you to every person who has sat beside me during chemo treatments, sent messages, prayed for me, brought meals, checked on my children, supported my family, or simply reminded me that I am not walking through this alone. Cancer changes you. It humbles you. It forces you to lean on others in ways you never imagined. But it also shows you how much love exists around you. I am deeply grateful for every bit of kindness, support, encouragement, and love that has carried me through these difficult months. Thank you for helping me continue this fight and for helping give me the space to heal. With love and gratitude, Jessica
