On March 26, my dear friend and sister in Christ was diagnosed and currently has Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Positive HER2/NEU, a type of breast cancer.
Jessica has already had to take many days off from work to go to medical appointments and to undergo procedures, including biopsies, MRI’s ultrasounds and a MRI Biopsy. A double mastectomy and reconstruction is scheduled for May 12th. She will be hospitalized for at least the 12th and 13th, but possibly longer.
Her treatment plan definitely includes hormone therapy. However, chemo and radiation are to be determined. They are leaning towards just chemo, but are unsure if it will be aggressive or non aggressive. It is estimated that she will be out of work for 4 to 13 months.
Jessica says,
“I am not going to let this over come me with fear! I’m staying positive and trusting God through it all! I know in the end, no matter what happens, God will get the glory!”
As her friend, she amazes me how she exudes so much strength and joy. You would be shocked to know the things she has endured this far. Through it all she continues to be the ray of light that she is.
If you feel led, please consider helping her as she starts her journey to healing. If you are not able to give, your prayers are greatly appreciated!
