Hello everyone, my name is Tyler Machado and I’m reaching out to friends, family, and anyone else who is willing to help us. In November, the love of my life and my future bride, Jessica Newcomb, was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer that has spread to her uterus and surrounding areas of her pelvis. After talking with the doctor, we have learned that during the chemo and radiation, she won’t be able to bear any children. The only way for us to have a child is to freeze her eggs.
On December 2nd, 2024, we had our first consultation with an IVF specialist in Scottsdale to see what it’s going to cost to freeze eggs. The doctor explained to us the cost and the difference between freezing eggs and freezing embryos. If we were to freeze embryos, it would give us a higher chance of finding a gestational carrier (someone to safely Carry our baby ) and the embryo to grow. The cost out of pocket, because insurance won’t cover it, would be around $10,000 or greater depending on how many eggs we test. That doesn’t include Anastasia , labs , medication and or the fees for when we do the transfer into the gestational carrier we choose .
Then of course when chemo and radiation starts in January after fertility the medical expenses for what insurance won’t cover for that is going to be heavy as well. Jess is stubborn and will want to work the whole time , but if she cannot and needs to take a little time off from work , the expenses will help us with that as well .
Thank you for your consideration.
