My name is Jessica. I was a teacher for 19 years and am now working in construction as a project coordinator. Back in February 2024 I turned 41 and decided it was time to fulfill my lifelong dream of having a baby. However, at that time, I learned that my path would be more difficult due to infertility issues. I learned that IVF and using donors would be the only path for me. Being single and having to work multiple jobs, having a baby via IVF is financially a hardship. Even though I have health insurance, I am paying 100% out of pocket, which is adding up to more than $30,000, because fertility is not covered by my insurance.
