Help Us Hire a Private Attorney for My Wife’s Upcoming Court Date
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help. My wife is facing a serious legal situation, and we’re doing everything we can to support her—but we’ve hit a wall.
A few years ago, before we got clean and turned our lives around, she was arrested for simple possession. Her court date is coming up on the 13th of this month, and the public defender assigned to her case has been completely unresponsive. Despite multiple phone calls, voicemails, and emails, we haven’t been able to reach them at all. With the hearing just days away, we’re terrified and feel abandoned by the system.
The current plea offer is three years in prison, and the public defender hasn’t made any effort to negotiate or communicate. We believe a private attorney could make a real difference—possibly even file a motion to suppress evidence or negotiate probation instead of prison time.
We’ve found a private attorney who’s willing to take her case for $1,500 down, followed by a $500/month payment plan, totaling $5,000 if the case doesn’t go to trial (which we’re not planning to pursue). We’re not asking anyone to cover the full amount—just anything that could help us make the initial payment.
My wife is currently the sole provider for our family while I’m studying full-time in computer programming and computer science. We’re just getting by, and this situation has blindsided us.
I never imagined having to ask for help like this, but we’re out of options. Even $5 would mean the world to us. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this with others would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support—whether through donations or simply spreading the word—could help keep our family together.
With gratitude,
Madison and Jessica
