Support Jessica's Fight Against Cerebral Atrophy

Hi, my name is Jessica McDaniel, and I never expected to be sharing a story like this at 45.
Life changed for me at just 9 years old, when a serious fall left me with a permanent concussion and lifelong epilepsy. My childhood was filled with seizures, medications, and uncertainty. By 18, my seizures had faded, and for decades, I managed my condition with medication and optimism.
But last July, everything shifted.
I had a severe seizure out of nowhere and was rushed to the ER. What followed was a series of doctor visits, tests, medications - and no answers. In March, I was diagnosed with Cerebral Atrophy, a progressive and irreversible condition where parts of the brain begin to deteriorate. Just weeks ago, new scans showed the atrophy is spreading, and I’ve since undergone further testing to uncover whether this could be something more or potentially genetic.
As a mother, the thought of passing this on to my daughters is heartbreaking.
This has been one of the most difficult seasons of my life - physically, emotionally, and financially. I’ve always been a hard worker and passionate about what I do, but lately, I haven’t been able to keep up the same pace. With only one income supporting our family, the growing medical bills and reduced work hours are taking a serious toll.
I’ve never been someone who asks for help easily, but I’m learning that sometimes, strength means allowing others to walk with you. That’s why I’m here - humbly asking for support as I navigate this journey.
Your donation - no matter the amount - will go directly toward medical expenses, ongoing testing, and providing some financial relief for my family as we face an uncertain road ahead. And if you're not in a place to give financially, sharing this page would mean just as much.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story and for standing with me. Your kindness brings hope on even the hardest days.
With love,
Jessica McDaniel
