My name is Jessica, and I am reaching out for support after a series of unexpected medical emergencies turned my life upside down. Just one week after undergoing a laparoscopic hernia repair on March 6, I developed a small bowel obstruction that required open abdominal surgery on March 13. Unfortunately, complications after both surgeries meant I had to be transferred from my hometown of Silver City, NM to El Paso, TX for specialized care. Being away from home and facing these health challenges has been incredibly difficult, both physically and emotionally.

As I continue to recover in the hospital, the financial strain on my family is growing. We are facing mounting hospital bills, travel expenses for my family to be by my side, and my husband has had to take time away from work to support me during this critical time. These costs are adding up quickly, and it’s overwhelming to manage them while focusing on my recovery.
