Jessica Coghill, a devoted mother, para educator, and proud Chiricahua Apache, tragically passed away at just 46 after contracting Hepatitis A at an Orange County restaurant. Her sudden loss has left her two sons facing an uncertain future. Jessica’s eldest son is autistic, low functioning, and diabetic, while her youngest, only 14, has just started high school. Jessica dedicated her life to her boys, even choosing not to practice law as a paralegal so she could be there for them every day. She was also the Co-Director of the Orange County American Indian Movement since 2021, and a member since she was in high school, passionately advocating for her community. With no other family support and their father not involved, the boys are now left without their mother’s care and guidance. Jessica herself endured great loss, having lost her own mother to a heart attack four years ago.
Right now, Jessica’s sons are in urgent need of help. The funds raised will go directly toward their most pressing needs—housing, daily living expenses, and essential services—to help them maintain some stability and security as they navigate this heartbreaking transition.
We know we can’t meet every need, but together, we can lift these boys up and show them they’re not alone. Your support will help ensure they don’t lose their home right away and give them a sense of hope in the midst of loss. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated by all who care for Jessica’s family.
