Support Jessica and Josh's Road to Recovery

My name is Kathryn and I am asking the community to rally around my best friend of 35 years as she navigates through the days ahead. Yesterday, her partner and father of her children was in a car accident that left him with life-altering injuries. He is currently in surgery to repair the broken vertebrae and has been told to prepare for a year of recovery-which means a year without work. Jessica Barker and Josh Denio are the type of people who always put others first. If your car is in the garage, no problem-you can borrow theirs. Josh came to my house on Christmas Eve to help my husband fix the plumbing in our bathroom. If you are in the hospital, Jessica will sit with you day in and day out no matter how long you’re in there. This family is community-minded and it is time for us to give back. They have three school-aged children at home, two of whom Jessica homeschools.

As we all know, living in this economy is a challenge. Any amount you can spare will help, and if you aren’t able to spare anything, please share.

I wanted to update everyone about Josh’s condition. He has broken four ribs, which nothing can be done about.

The surgery Thursday night (5/22) went well. He now has two rods in his back supporting the lower vertebrae.

He was able to take a walk with a walker today (5/24)!! Woohoo! He must wear a brace anytime he is not lying down.
