Hello there everyone!
My name is Jesse from the Netherlands, I’m 21 years old, and for the past four years I’ve been battling severe, complex health issues that have dramatically changed my life.
I’ve been diagnosed with dysautonomia, a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system and causes a wide range of debilitating symptoms—chronic pain, fatigue, digestive problems, brain fog, and more. For nearly a year, I was bedridden. Though I’ve made some progress, the journey is far from over.
Today, I’m able to work part-time as a taxi driver, but due to my physical limitations, I can’t work more than 24 hours a week. It’s not enough to cover the specialized treatments and therapies I urgently need to fully heal and reclaim my life.
So, What’s Really Going On?
My body struggles to sense where it is in space—a condition called proprioceptive dysfunction. This is because the signals my brain receives from key areas in my body—especially the dental and cranial regions—are severely disrupted.
A severe tongue-tie at birth (surgically released only in March 2025), braces, and trauma from birth have caused my cranium to collapse and twist asymmetrically. Since the skull houses and protects the brainstem, this structural misalignment has disrupted my entire body.
My brain constantly receives inaccurate information about body position, triggering a chronic stress response. My nervous system reacts by tensing up, creating deep compensation patterns that affect how I move, breathe, sleep, and think.
This misalignment leads to:
- Twisting of the spine and vertebrae
- Restricted blood flow, lymphatic drainage, and cerebrospinal fluid circulation
- Disrupted nerve signaling
- A cascade of dysfunction across multiple systems
Since the nervous system affects every single area of the body, the consequences are extremely broad. I’m currently dealing with over 80 symptoms, affecting my physical, mental, hormonal, and emotional health. It feels like my entire system is locked in survival mode.
I've Tried Everything You Can Think Of
Over the past four years, I’ve left no stone unturned. I’ve tried every lifestyle change, every diet, every supplement you can imagine—from strict elimination protocols to ketogenic, carnivore, fruit only diets. I’ve invested in detoxes, gut healing, neurological programs, and much much more. You could say this turned in to a kind of self-educated degree.
I’ve seen all the specialists I could think of—neurologists, dentists, osteopaths, physical therapists, ENTs, functional medicine doctors—both in the Netherlands and abroad. Some things helped temporarily, but nothing ever got to the root of the problem. The missing piece was always the integration of everything, and finally I’ve found a team that sees the whole picture.
This healing journey has taken me across borders in search of answers and hope. I’ve traveled to the United States, England, and Germany (6x), meeting with doctors, therapists, and specialists. Most offered partial relief—but never lasting results.
But I’m grateful to say that’s finally changing.
After years of trying and failing, I’ve found a team of experts at the Applied Integration Academy (AIA) who deeply understand the full picture—how the nervous system, cranium, jaw, and body structure must work in harmony. Their integrative approach is giving me a real chance to reverse the patterns that have held me back for so long.
The Treatment Plan
The AIA team will guide me through a carefully designed, multi-year process aimed at retraining my nervous system (i’ll be out of the stress state in 6-8 months!!) and restoring proper structural balance. This will include:
- A custom-made ALF appliance (a light, neurologically-guided dental device that gently reshapes the cranial structure)
- A specialized neurological splint to restore balance in my bite and jaw function
- Custom insole corrections to help stabilize my posture and foot mechanics
- Ongoing, expert-led physical therapy to teach my brain how to use my body properly and rewire compensatory movement patterns
Together, these tools will help my body finally feel where it is in space, release the constant stress response and muscle tension, and allow me to slowly:
- Reshape my dental structure
- Align my spine and posture
- Restore healthy circulation and nerve signaling
- Begin moving and living freely again
Its very likely that i will feel ever better than before i got sick!
This approach is evidence-informed, integrative, and long-term, and it's the first real path toward full recovery that I’ve ever had. I’ve already been able to experience it working while I was in Florida for prolotherapy!
My Mission
Despite everything, I’ve never lost my desire to help others facing similar invisible struggles. Chronic illness can make people feel lost, alone, and misunderstood—and I want to change that.
I dream of becoming a practitioner, educator, and advocate for integrative, root-cause healthcare. I want to create a place where people with complex conditions feel seen, heard, and supported—and where they can finally start to heal.
Why I Need Your Help
The therapies I need are highly specialized and since they’re also across the globe, not covered by insurance. I would absolutely prefer to pay for it myself, but it will take me years to earn enough money.. Your donation will help me:
- Fund the creation of the ALF appliance, splint, and insoles
- Access cranial, dental, and neurosensory therapy
- Cover travel and consultation costs with international experts
Even a small donation makes a big impact. You’re not just supporting my healing—you’re helping build a future where more people can access the care they truly need.
Thank You
From the bottom of my heart—thank you. Your support means everything to me. It gives me the chance to heal, grow, and use my story to bring hope and healing to others. Together, we can create something beautiful.
