Jesse was my best friend, the father of my children, and the love of my life. Our world changed forever when several men entered a friend's home with guns and shot him in the head. He was rushed to Harborview and put on life support. I stayed by his side, holding him and telling him how much we loved him, listening to his heartbeat until it faded away. Jesse passed away the next morning, leaving a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
Jesse blessed me with two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth (age 4) and Lily (age 3). He was a loving father who never missed a doctor’s appointment during my pregnancies or for our girls. Jesse had a heart of gold, always making us laugh with his humor and comforting us with his big hugs. He changed my life and saved me by giving me our sweet girls. No matter what was happening, Jesse would show up and make everything feel right again with his presence and his adorable giggle. I am so grateful for the time we had together, and I don’t know how I’ll go on without him.
We are now facing many challenges without Jesse. We need help with funeral costs, sending his guitar to his brother and son, and providing a headstone and burial plot. We also need to move to a safer place, which means covering moving expenses, storage, and deposits. I want to keep our daughters safe by getting a car and driver’s license, and there are dental needs our insurance won’t cover. Most of all, I want to give our girls the chance to do things Jesse dreamed for them, like gymnastics. Please help us honor Jesse’s memory and support his children during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution will make a difference and help us find safety, stability, and hope for the future.
