Friends, family, and colleagues,

As many of you know, I am currently a PhD Candidate at Nazarene Theological College and the University of Manchester, specializing in Religions and Historical Theology. I am currently in the thick of my dissertation, working hard to contribute meaningful research to my field.

The Situation: Unfortunately, the last few months have brought a series of severe financial challenges for my family. We have been working tirelessly to keep up, including me picking up extra hours driving for Lyft. However, a series of mechanical issues with our car sidelined my ability to earn that extra income, and the "financial storm" of the last few months, including a significant increase in the cost of our health insurance, has left me behind on my tuition.

The Goal: As of today, I have an outstanding balance of £4,839.75 (approx. $6,150 USD).

According to university policy, I cannot be invoiced for the upcoming January term—essentially halting my progress—unless I can get this balance down to under £500 (approx. $668).

The Plan: My wife and I are doing everything we can. We have cut our household budget to the bone and are selling possessions to bridge the gap. Our car is finally back on the road this week, and I will be spending my entire two-week winter break driving as much as possible to pay this down while also trying to complete my current chapter by my January chapter deadline as well.

We have set a personal goal to raise at least $1,650 ourselves through these extra efforts. However, this still leaves a significant gap of $4,500 that we must bridge before the January term begins. Despite our best efforts, we won't be able to close this remaining gap on our own in time to stay on track for my January registration.

How You Can Help: I am asking for your support to help me reduce my balance to that £500 ($668) threshold so I can continue my studies without interruption. Every donation goes directly toward my tuition balance.

Financial Support: Any amount, no matter how small, helps me get closer to the "finish line."

Sharing: If you aren't able to give, sharing this link with your network would mean the world to me.

I am so close to completing my dissertation and this degree and beginning the next chapter of my professional life. Thank you for standing with me and my family during this difficult stretch.

With gratitude,

Jesse L. Heath
