Update: Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis – Jessica's Fight Continues

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

It is with a heavy heart that I share an update on my dear friend, Jessica. Over the last year, Jessica has been undergoing scans to monitor her health following her initial cancer battle. Unfortunately, after her February scan, Jessica received devastating news. Her rectal cancer has metastasized and spread to her liver, changing her diagnosis to Stage 4.

This news has rocked us all. Jessica, already a warrior, now faces the harsh reality of re-entering the fight against cancer—this time with even more intense battles ahead. Over the coming months, she will endure aggressive chemotherapy, surgeries, and the relentless side effects of treatment. Through it all, she will continue to parent her daughter, Scarlett, as a single mother, doing her best to stay strong for the one person who needs her most.

As you can imagine, Jessica has been unable to work while fighting for her life. The physical toll of chemo and radiation has made it impossible for her to provide for her family as she once did. This is where we come in.

Jessica needs the support of her community now more than ever. We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden she faces in this next chapter of her fight. To know Jess Webb is to know someone who is sparkly and brave, bold and caring, a tenacious fighter with the kindest soul. Everything you want in a friend wrapped up in a beautiful package! Jessica's life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer in February 2023. There's nothing pretty about a cancer battle, but Jess has handled every curveball she's been thrown with grace and perseverance, all while parenting her daughter Scarlett on her own. The fight isn't over as Jess deals with awful long-term side effects of her cancer treatments as well as the complications that have come with her reconstructive surgery. Now, she faces another surgery in December to repair her shoulder after falling due to her foot neuropathy... just another lovely reminder of her chemo journey.

Friends, this is where we ask for your help. Jess has greatly struggled financially due to her inability to work since her diagnosis. Her ongoing fight for disability benefits has not been fruitful. She and Scarlett are in need of a new living situation and are hoping to have some financial help to make that a reality. Scarlett is a freshman in high school, and it is important to Jess that she keep her in the same school district and not disrupt her life any more than she's already had to. Jess is an incredible mother who always puts her daughter first, even in her darkest days of her cancer fight. They both deserve a comfortable, healthy living environment they can call their own!
