We created this GoFundMe to support our friend and colleague, Jess Lacava, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We want to raise this money to help offset Jess’ medical expenses while she fights this battle. Jess is a loving mother to 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter, proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren and one great grandson who will turn 2 in July. She is a caring daughter to her Mother and Father and always ensures that they are taken care of by assisting them with shopping, cleaning, and any other things they may need. She is the kindest and most generous person who always puts the needs of others before her own. She never hesitates to reach out to and check in on anyone whether they are going through a difficult time or just having a bad day. She enjoys being with her friends & family, baking treats for everyone to enjoy, and spending time up at her camp when she can. Jess began working at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in 2004 in Environmental services, then became a Patient Care Technician on the Mother Baby unit, and in 2015 became the Health Unit Coordinator on the High Risk Antepartum unit. She has dedicated her career to helping others going through some of life’s most difficult moments. We now want to come together to help support her, as she would for any of us.
