In the early hours of November 12th, a devastating fire broke out at South River Studios, a warehouse that is home to many incredible artists in Atlanta. It is heartbreaking to see such a wonderful community uprooted overnight. These studios are the livelihoods of so many—entire spaces have burned to the ground, and many others have suffered severe smoke and water damage. The fire has displaced artists who rely on these spaces for their work. Some have lost everything: tools, materials, and years of work.

I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friend Jess Self. Jess is a sculptor and educator whose studio at South River was one of those destroyed by severe smoke and water damage. The fire resulted in the loss of her equipment, supplies, and creative work that has been damaged beyond repair.

It will be a long, difficult road to rebuild what has been lost. Funds raised will help Jess replace her tools and materials, cover rent and a deposit for a new space.
