Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected given all that is happening in the world. For those of you who don't know me, My name is Jes Davis. I'm a Filmmaker, Artist & Activist.

Recently my father was fatally struck by a drunk driver on Sunday evening August 31st, 2025 at 9:47pm. He was rushed to Stanford Hospital where they stabilized him but he was in a sustained comatose and subsequently persistent vegetative state. The driver is currently awaiting her court date which has yet to be assigned.

After being in a persistent vegetative state for a month, my brother and I made the decision to transition him into Stanfords Palliative/Hospice care (End of Life Care) as his prognosis from the Neurological Critical Care team did not align with the quality of life that he would want for himself.

I live in Oregon and making the trip to California has caused a financial burden on me. Right now I'm financially strained and am working to recoup the money I spent flying down to California to be with my dad for a month during this crisis.

Expenses:

-Flights to California from Oregon

-Airbnb close to the hospital

-Ubers/Lyfts to and from the hospital

-General California living expenses for a month
