Support Jerry's Fight for Asylum

My name is Jorge Ruiz! Typically, I do not create Gofundme unless I have an absolute concern over a tragedy that someone close to me is experiencing. I have a friend by the name of Jerry who was born in Buenaventura Colombia (for a longtime considered one of the deadliest crime infested cities in the world)

Jerry's story:

Jerry and his family were displaced by gangs out of their home ( in other words, gangs went to their home and took over their home kicking him and his family to the streets, a common practice in his city). Jerry's father was a taxi driver who was murdered during a robbery by gang members. Jerry's partner was also targeted and murdered for being part of the LGBTQ community. After the murder of Jerry's partner, they began hunting Jerry down for possibly the same reasons and his fate was sealed if he stayed in the country. One day, 2 gang members showed up at Jerry's house looking for him (fortunately, he was not home - he was at the Pharmacy where he worked as a pharmacist). Jerry's mother was told that they were looking for Jerry and that they will find him and take him, dead or alive!

Jerry fled his native country for fear of being persecuted and killed. Currently, Jerry is here in the US under the protection of Asylum with permission to work. The battle is not over for Jerry, the attorney fees are quite high in order to defend his Asylum case which will allow him to safely stay in our country. Jerry as incurred many expenses to protect himself. I am asking for the help of my friends, colleagues and family to help with this cause that will help save his life. Any donation, no matter how small will help Jerry with his legal fees in hopes that we can save his life. Jerry cannot go back to his country, please help me save his life!
