Jerry is a big part of our lives, whether we know him as a brother, uncle, or father. He is one of the sweetest, funniest, cleverest people you'll ever meet. His positive attitude and cheerful good humor help hold our family together.
Jerry he has worked hard his entire life: Construction, food service, selling, graphic design, whatever was needed to help support his three kids.
His path was never an easy one, and he rarely had more than just enough to get by. Over the years, the stress took its toll, and he has suffered from progressively worsening kidney disease over the past five years.
This disease has finally reached its end stages, and he is now in need of routine dialysis to take the place of his failed kidneys. Currently, he is hospitalized full-time since he has just begun dialysis — these sessions are multiple hours long, three to four times per week as his condition is monitored.

Eventually, he may be able to set up a peritoneal dialysis system at home, but currently this option is limited by the lack of space at his apartment — home dialysis requires keeping a large amount of supplies and equipment on hand, and his whole family lives in a tiny space.
In the long run, we are investigating options for kidney donation and transplant to give Jerry enough freedom to potentially return to work.
*PLEASE NOTE DONATIONS ARE SHOWN IN MEXICAN PESOS (MXN) WHICH EXCHANGE AT AROUND 20 PER US DOLLAR!*
Funds will be used for a mix of direct medical expenses, and cost of living. Anything you can contribute to help support his family during this time of financial and emotional hardship will be deeply appreciated.
