Support Jerry “Larry” Carle’s Cancer Recovery Journey

Hi everyone!

My name is Sal Casuccio and I am a close friend to Jerry “Larry” Carle. We also worked side by side together for quite a few years. His family and a lot of his friends know him as Jerry, but for some strange reason we call him Larry.

No matter what you call him, he’s one of the greatest and selfless guys I know. His character is intact; and he will help you at the drop of a dime. Jokingly, I used to try and teach him to “just say no”…but he always failed miserably at it, and if someone needed help he would be there for them. Larry would give you the shirt off his back…that’s for sure. For those of you who know him, I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.

Unfortunately, and recently, he was diagnosed with multiple cancers and has already undergone two surgeries. They were successful and the doctor is optimistic, but he has a long road to recovery. Next he has to deal with lung cancer surgery at the end of March. Thankfully, they caught it early and the doctor is also optimistic he will recover but it will take at least 2 months with strict orders he can’t do anything…except, of course, drive his poor wife, Cathy, crazy!

I’m not going into the details of his medical challenges, but I’m sure if you want to call him he would love to hear from you. Cathy will most likely post updates on Facebook.

The Carles don’t have much money, and Larry always did odd jobs to earn a buck and make ends meet. He’s one of the hardest workers I know. Folks, they’re in a financial bind and they need our help. Let’s come through for them. Think of all the money we wasted on stupid stuff in our lifetime. Now this is a cause we can get behind.

His roommate in recovery at the hospital, a total stranger, overheard the nurse talking to Larry about the medical bills and how he was going to pay. Larry mentioned to her about a utility bill (among others) that was overdue and his roommate just paid it for him! Needless to say Larry broke down in tears.

Larry is not a very good taker. He would overwhelmingly rather give than receive. We need more people like Larry’s hospital roommate…who was recovering from his own medical woes.

Friends and family, please find it in your hearts to give what you can to help him pay the medical and monthly bills that are starting to pile up, until he can get back to work sometime this summer. And please forward this far and wide through your social media outlets, emails, texts, however you can spread the word.

And lastly, but perhaps most importantly, pray for him, for God to restore his health…so he can get back on his feet once again…so he can continue to be a blessing to his friends and family, and those he encounters on a daily basis.
