Support Jerron’s Recovery After Emergency open Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Hey everyone, I'm reaching out on behalf of our friend Jerron Reese. If you’ve ever met Jerron then you know he is always positive and always smiling. That hasn't changed even though he's had a very tough last week.

On December 26th Jerron went to the ER for chest pains. Doctors discovered that he had a thoracic aortic aneurysm. He was immediately life-flighted to St. Luke’s in Houston, where, on the morning of Saturday the 27th, he underwent emergency open-heart surgery. During the 6-hour operation, surgeons repaired the aneurysm and performed multiple critical procedures, including replacement of the aortic valve with a mechanical valve. This was an extremely serious and complex operation—especially for someone as young and otherwise healthy as Jerron. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.

But the recovery, as you can imagine, is not easy. While medical bills continue to come in, there is also the added challenge of time away from work. Jerron is currently able to use his available state and local leave days; however, once those days are exhausted, he will not yet be eligible for FMLA or access to the leave bank, as he has not been back with Bryan ISD for a full year. As a result, portions of his recovery may be unpaid while he continues to heal.

Jerron worked for Bryan ISD for 10yrs teaching and coaching. He then went to College Station HS as the head varsity basketball coach for 4 years. He left coaching in 2025 to continue his education in getting a masters and took a job with BISD as the Special Education Teacher, Therapeutic Support Program at M.C . Harris High School. Along with working part time as an athletic academic mentor for the center for student athletes services at Texas A&M.

Jerron has spent his entire adult life giving back to this community in both Bryan and College Station. It's who he is and what he loves.

This is a chance for us to show him how much we appreciate and support him during this difficult time. I'm asking for any donation big or small, and also a prayer for him as he continues to recover.

All donations go straight to Jerron and his family, I know he is so grateful for any support and love we can show him.
