Support Jerome Barrett's Brain Tumor Battle

Hi, my name is Jerome Barrett. I am 38 years old.

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year, In December 2024 after going to the emergency for a severe headache, i found out after doing MRI that the tumor had grown very large (5cm).

For the past couple of months, I've been experiencing severe headaches and unconsciousness. I've lost vision in my left eye, and the right eye is going. I have lost my peripheral vision totally, and life has been difficult for me because the tumor is pressing on my optical nerves, affecting my sight. I've been bumping into things, causing me to bruise. Twice, I lost consciousness in the bathroom, hit my head, and hurt my leg. My memory has been vastly affected and I experience unexpected confusion daily. There is a constant pressure in my head that feels like its going to explode all the time. My battle with the tumor makes it so hard to live a normal life.

It's only the grace of God that has kept me alive.

Due to my medical diagnosis, I have not been able to work now for over a month. I have found myself in an unfortunate situation where I'm unable to take care of my medical expenses and even my basic living costs. I was reluctant to ask for help, but I was left with no choice as I have no family or friends nearby.

Due to the urgency of the situation, I am scheduled for surgery January 7, 2025 to take out most of the tumor. Everything cannot be removed as the tumor is very large and is attached to some of the arteries in my brain.

I am praying for a successful surgery.

Average recovery is 6 weeks, i will be required to stay home for full recovery.
