Help JerNee Shine at Junior Miss Juneteenth Queen at Nationals! ✨

This past summer, my daughter JerNee earned the title of Junior Miss Juneteenth Queen of Illinois; a reflection of her intelligence, leadership, creativity, and heart for her community.

Now, she has the incredible opportunity to represent Illinois at the National Junior Miss Juneteenth Competition in Galveston, Texas, from October 7–12, 2025. This event celebrates excellence, resilience, and the rich legacy of Juneteenth and it’s a chance for JerNee to showcase her talent, hard work, and dedication on a national stage.

At Nationals, JerNee will compete in:
• Evening Gown Wear (custom-tailored for her)
• Talent Showcase (we’re already hard at work on her performance)
• Ad Sales ️ (minimum $500 to promote local businesses in the official program book)
• Essay Competition ✍ (demonstrating her writing skills and personal insight)

We’re raising funds to cover:
• Ad sales requirement for the program book DEADLINE IS 9/15/2025!!!!
• Travel expenses
• Evening gown and multiple outfit changes (12 to be exact)
• Hair and accessories
• Tickets to local museums and cultural experiences in Galveston
• Other competition-related expenses

About JerNee

JerNee is more than just a pageant titleholder; she’s a natural leader and a young lady with a heart to serve.
• Academics: Almost straight A’s every year, with a love for learning and goal setting. Each school year, we set academic and personal goals together, and she consistently meets or exceeds them.
• Entrepreneurship: Runs her own bracelet-making business.
• Athletics: Participated in cheer, majorette dance, and volleyball; competing locally and out-of-state, with first-place wins in both cheer and dance.
• Leadership: A graduate of the Girls Who Germinate program, where she led yoga sessions, guided group conversations, and developed emotional intelligence and a growth mindset.
• Community Service: Created and handed out affirmation cards at a local park to uplift strangers, and has been passionate about giving since she was little; from offering gifts to supporting the homeless.
• Creativity: Loves to cook and create with her hands, often crafting unique items from everyday materials like cardboard.

JerNee approaches things with a can-do attitude, and whenever a bit of doubt or a limiting belief shows up, we talk it and she almost always rises above it stronger than before. This national stage is not just about competing; it’s about representing our community, inspiring other young girls, and showing that with passion, preparation, and support, dreams are possible.

Why Your Support Matters

I have a blended family where my partner and I are raising four children together. I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and a part-time worker. I work hard to give my children every opportunity to grow into the best versions of themselves, but opportunities like this can be costly. I don’t want finances to be the reason JerNee can’t shine.

Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward making this trip possible. You can also support in other ways:
• Sponsoring an ad in the program book for your business or organization
• Donating travel points, services, or attire
• Helping connect us to sponsors or supporters

JerNee is already a winner in my heart, but together, we can help her bring home the title of Junior Miss Juneteenth Queen of the United States of America.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting JerNee’s journey.
