My name is Jeri. Before my recent relapse of multiple myeloma (a blood cancer), I spent three years as my mother’s full-time caregiver. We lived together in our family home, which we lovingly call “The Nest,” and she was the main contributor to the mortgage. After she passed away, I tried to return to the workforce, but with a cancer history, securing new employment became nearly impossible. I turned to gig work to keep up with the bills, but eventually the expenses—especially the mortgage and lawyer fees—became overwhelming.
This summer, my cancer returned. I have been receiving weekly inpatient chemotherapy and taking daily oral chemotherapy since then, which has made regular work impossible. My Social Security Disability application is still pending, and my mortgage forbearance ends this month. I have exhausted every other option.
I am humbly asking for assistance to help cover the overdue mortgage and prevent foreclosure, so I can keep The Nest and focus fully on healing. Every donation will be sent directly to the mortgage company. The deadline is December 1, 2025.
Whatever you are able to give is truly appreciated. Your support helps me continue fighting and gives me the stability I need to move toward recovery and life beyond cancer.
