Hi all! My name is Jeremy Montez. I have been a barber and the owner of Techniques Hair Shop for the past 10 years. It has been my passion and my entire life since I started the trade. Since opening the shop, I have fostered a welcoming place for the local community and gained a large following, becoming a staple of the Santa Fe Art District in Denver.

Unfortunately, due to a recent accident, I shattered both my wrists and broke my back. I am currently out of the hospital, after having surgery, but in a lot of pain. The doctors said I might never be able to cut hair again, but I am optimistic I will recover and come back better than ever.

I have never made a GoFundMe before, but I am now in a position where I need to ask for help for the first time in my life. My main goal is to keep my business open, to ensure my employees have a place to continue to work and my clients can still have their favorite shop to visit for their barbering needs. I will also need help covering my medical expenses, now that I will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. The surgery costs were $20,000, and I estimate that I will need an additional $10,000 to cover personal and business expenses till I can hopefully get back to work.
