Hi, my name is Nicole Costanzo, and I’m asking for help for my boyfriend, Jeremy Tardrew, who is currently fighting a severe complication of Crohn’s disease.

Since my last update, his condition has taken a sudden and serious turn. On April 23rd, he was admitted to the hospital, and early the next morning, around 6am, he was moved into the ICU. By 10am on April 24th, he was taken into emergency surgery.

Right now, he is in critical condition. He has a colostomy bag, is on a ventilator to help him breathe, and has an NG tube in place. He’s connected to multiple IVs receiving medications, antibiotics, steroids, and more to keep him stable. After surgery, his heart rate rose to around 170 and, while it has slowly started to come down, it’s still fluctuating between 125–140.

This has been overwhelming and terrifying for both of us. He is going to be out of work for at least 4 months, possibly longer, and the financial strain is something we simply cannot manage alone.
