As most of you know my dear friend, Jeremy Searson, has been fighting Stage 4 Colon Cancer for almost two years. He’s been through more than 45 rounds of chemotherapy and endless appointments and scans, all with the same determination and grit that anyone who knows him would expect. Jeremy has always been the kind of person to stand on his own two feet independent, stubborn, and full of fight. But now, his battle has reached its most critical stage, and he can’t do this one alone.

The Next Chapter: A Liver Transplant

The only path forward for Jeremy is a liver transplant. More specifically, he needs one brave individual with O- blood type who is willing to step forward as a living donor. This isn’t just about saving Jeremy’s life, it also means another patient on the waiting list would get the liver he would otherwise take.

Jeremy has already been approved at Houston Methodist and expects to be officially listed this week. He is also in the final stages of approval at Cleveland Clinic and is in active conversations with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and University of Rochester.

Why We’re Asking for Help

After the transplant, Jeremy will have to live near the hospital for at least two months, away from home, his job, and his income. Greg will also need to step away from work to care for him. While insurance will cover the medical bills, it won’t cover the housing, food, travel, and everyday costs of living away from home for that long.

This fundraiser is about helping Jeremy and Greg carry that weight so they can focus fully on recovery.
