On March 17, 2018, Jeremy was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. Jeremy had a radical right nephrectomy, which removed a kidney and a 5 lb. tumor. In August 2018, he started immunotherapy to slow the progression of the disease. Immunotherapy was stopped in October 2018 with scan results showing new tumors. In December 2018, Jeremy started the chemotherapy pill Cabometyx. In January 2019, tests showed the immunotherapy killed his pituitary gland, so he was hospitalized and diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency, Type 1 Diabetes and was in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Move forward to March 2019 and Jeremy started a clinical trial with Inlyta, continuing with either a placebo or inhibitor medication until December 2019. At that time Jeremy had a scan that revealed new tumors and disease progression. In January 2020 Jeremy started taking chemo pills Lenvima and Everolimus and continues on these medications today. This chemo treatment has caused ulcers and mouth sores that are very painful. Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover the medication, called GelClair, to treat these painful ulcers and out of pocket costs would be $3500.00, Of course cancer treatment is incredibly expensive and we want to help Jeremy with just a small part of that cost by raising the money to help him buy the medication to help with these painful mouth sores. Please help us to help Jeremy!
