Support Jeremy Gunter's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
My step dad Jeremy Gunter (Gump) was in an horrific car accident on Wednesday June 12th 2024. He had to be cut out of his truck and exported to Pikeville medical center where it was determined it’s best to fly him out. From the start of the flight to landing and getting him back he was put under surgery in less than 1 hour. He has a huge skull fracture with a small brain bleed that should be able to absorb on its own, broken ribs, a broke leg, shattered hip (they out a traction in this leg to keep it from disrupting anymore), and he had internal bleeding. The first surgery they went in and removed some of the large intestine and colon. On Thursday, June 13, they went back into surgery on his stomach where he was still having internal bleeding and determined where it was with a fix. He was fixed up with drain bags to drain all the aloud and blood from his stomach and kept him on life support. On Saturday June 15th they was able to do a breathing trial with him and determine he needed a break from the vent before his next big surgery and they done just that. The pain in his eyes I’ll never forget but again we are blessed he’s making progress daily. Yesterday June 18th, they done his massive surgery to where they went in and rebuilt his hip with plates and screws and got it back aligned with his femur. The traction was also taken out. As of today he is still back on the vent and they are trying to let him and his body rest it’s in complete shock.

the doctors has told us this will be a long long recovery. After his icu stay he will need to be doing inpatient rehab and of course bills and expenses are adding up.

anyone who know my step dad knows he has always provided for his family no matter the circumstances. For him to come home we will need to have a ramp built for him and some adjustments to his home. He will be without work for awhile and will really need help for them to get on their feet and to help with the hospital stay. My mom hasn’t left his side and it’s just very expensive.

several has asked how to help or where they can donate so I created this. No amount is too small or too big and if you can’t donate then please share and pray. He needs it. Several have already reached out and helped whether it was a place to stay for the family to be down there with him, food, or just sending money to help. Nothing has went unnoticed.

we love all of you❤️
