Jeremy Burge was stabbed and severely injured in the Demopolis Walmart on 7/15/25 when he attempted to stop the assault of several people from someone who was armed with a crowbar. He was able to tackle the person and take the crowbar but unfortunately the person was also armed with a large knife and stabbed him in the stomach. Jeremy was rushed to the hospital in Demopolis and then flown by helicopter to a larger facility where he underwent a surgery to repair the damages caused from the attack. Jeremy and his family are well known in the Hale and Marengo counties and have many friends in the area. Jeremy recently started a new job at SunSouth but due to his injuries he will be out of work for some time. He is the soul provider for his wife and 4 children. Let’s all support this local hero in his time of need as he and one other person were the only ones in that Walmart who stepped up to stop the assault that was taking place.
