A few months ago, he was declared cancer free; they found a small issue that had metastasized in his brain, after some targeted radiation, he was doing well again. He was recently having some breathing issues and they thought it was pneumonia, turns out the cancer had attacked his right lung. Jeremy lost his battle on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at approximately 8:45am.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy and their two boys, Spencer and Bradley.
Please read below for information on the beginning of Jeremy's journey:
Jeremy is a dad of two amazing young men and a husband of 23 years. He's a very dedicated, hard-working family man. He loves to get his hands dirty working on his '61 Chevy pickup, towing his boys on tubes behind his boat, riding in the snow on his 3-wheeler, taking his youngest fishing, and teaching his oldest all his knowledge at work. He loves working and is always on the go. He doesn't do well with down time and is always ready to jump up to help someone with a task.
Jeremy has been with Waste Connections for the past 13+ years and is a valued employee, mentor and friend (this is why we are setting this up for him). His knowledge and dedication to getting the job done and supporting his team is above what anyone could hope for in an employee. He's here six days a week making sure this place is a well-oiled machine. He works closely every day with his oldest son, passing down his years of knowledge and commitment to making LRI a great place to work.
Jeremy and his family just found out that he has a pretty intense battle ahead of him. He's currently being evaluated and learning all of the details surrounding a lung cancer diagnosis (more details to follow as the family feels comfortable sharing). Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that will occur while he goes to appointments, treatment (chemo, radiation and a new clinical trial) and continuing to live as normal a life as possible. We will continue to provide updates on his condition as he and his family learn more.
