Support Jen's Son's Road to Recovery

As many may know, one of my best friend's son has experienced a horrific medical incident while down in Florida. He spent over 20 days in a coma with very little hope of recovery. Against all medical opinions and odds, he has battled back and woken up. However, he has a very long and arduous road of therapy ahead of him. Since the day my friend, Jen, received that life-changing phone call, she left work and has been by his side each and every day. Anyone who knows Jen can appreciate the incredible, selfless, and giving person she is to all of her special education students, friends, and family! Jen sacrifices all for everyone around her.

Since this event happened in Florida, they now have the burden of requiring a medical transport for her son up to New York so he can receive all the rehabilitation and therapy he needs. Insurance will not cover this expense. It is overwhelming when coupled with having to live in hotels in Florida for over a month while also trying to care for her family back home.
