On August 4, 2025 my mom, Jen received the news that no one wants to hear, "you have cancer." She was diagnosed with an Invasive carcinoma in her left breast. Luckily it was caught early with a routine mammogram and she will make a full recovery once treatment is completed.
She had the tumor, sentinel node and four lymph nodes removed on 8/22. Thankfully the biopsy on the lymph nodes were negative for cancer. Unfortunately, she developed an infection in the incision under her arm which required an additional procedure along with 4 weeks of being treated daily at wound clinic. She started radiation on 10/16 and receives treatment Monday-Friday with her final treatment being on 11/24 in which she should be CANCER FREE!
During all this my mom has remained positive and optimistic, keeping a smile on her face even though she is physically and mentally drained. Her medical bills are staring to roll in and her stress levels are rising because she's not sure how she is going to be able to pay them. My mom typically works two, sometimes three jobs to make ends meet (she's done this since my brothers and I were little) however with the extreme exhaustion and radiation burn she has experienced from the treatments she hasn't been able to work another job. It is painful to watch the hardest working woman I know struggle and worry.
I know times are hard for everyone and she would never ask anyone for help, but she could sure use it. Please consider donating, me, my brothers and my mom would be forever grateful.
