About 4 ½ years ago, my younger sister Jen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had a very lengthy surgery to remove most of it. Although the surgery was successful, some cancer was still present. Due to Jen’s numerous issues with allergies and drug sensitivities, she made a very conscious and well thought out decision NOT to pursue traditional chemotherapy and instead focus on natural remedies and holistic health treatments. This has served her well, and she remains convinced that had she not done so, she would have been killed by the traditional treatments due to how her body has responded to various chemicals and drugs in the past. However, cancer being cancer, it has worsened at this particular time and she needs to “up her game,” so to speak. She currently has cancer in her liver, spleen, abdomen, and lymph nodes. I am starting a gofundme to help her fund a 3-week trip to Mexico to attend a clinic there called Hope4Cancer. She is set to leave on March 9th and will return on March 31st. Husband Dave will be accompanying her for the first week, son Ethan for the second week, and myself for the third week. Although Dave makes a good living, the combination of expenses they are facing between her cancer care, which mostly isn’t covered by health insurance, running the household, helping son Ethan pay for college (junior at UC), and helping daughter Gina finish out high school and go to college (junior at Carroll HS).,,, well….let’s just say it’s A LOT! If you happen to be able to help, it would be greatly appreciated by myself, Jen, and our family. It was VERY difficult to get her to agree to this, as it’s the last thing she wants to do, but speaking as her sister and someone who is very concerned and worried, I want her to have this help.
