My sister-in-law, Jen, is a hard-working career chef who fell on hard times. While grieving the loss of both of her parents—her mom passing two years ago and her dad passing on Father's Day last year, right before her wedding day—the unthinkable happened. Her husband of less than a year, my little brother, was hospitalized due to a medical condition he was unaware of. After nearly a month in the hospital, they attempted a surgery to save his life and were unsuccessful. In a short three-year window, Jen has lost a lot of stability and is now widowed at just 32 years old.
Jen is in desperate need of a fresh start and some assistance getting back on her feet. She had to miss work for several weeks during my brother's hospitalization and memorial service, and now needs to navigate her life outside of a dual-income setting. Any assistance you can offer to help cover the bills that were missed while she was unable to work, in addition to helping cover expenses for her over the next few months while she navigates this massive upheaval to her life, would be so deeply appreciated. Our family is helping as much as we can, but we also had to miss work during his hospitalization and covering costs for his end-of-life expenses, so now we're reaching out to the community for further assistance.
Any funds remaining after their bills are covered will be used to assist Jen in relocating to a new apartment and a fresh start for her life, moving forward from this unexpected tragedy.
