Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Hearts,
We are Shelby and Lorisa, and we are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend, Jenny and her children, Hannah and Michael. Jenny has been bravely battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer since her diagnosis on September 30th, 2022. Despite undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, she faced significant setbacks in her treatment journey in November 2024. Due to ongoing issues with low platelet counts, Jenny wasn't able to receive chemotherapy for several months. Her condition progressed to include metastatic brain cancer, with approximately 20 lesions found in her brain. Jenny completed 10 days of full brain radiation treatment last fall and is now continuing chemotherapy.
The financial burden of medical expenses continues to mount. While her insurance covers most treatments, it doesn't alleviate the growing medical debt she's faced over the past three years, and quite simply, it doesn't cover all of her treatment expenses. If you've ever been through a cancer journey, you know—it's incredibly expensive.
Jenny's children live on the west coast while she resides on the east coast and we want to ensure both Hannah and Michael can visit their mom whenever Jenny needs their support. We believe that by coming together as a community, we can help lift some of the financial burden that Jenny and her family are facing during this challenging time.
We are asking for your kindness and generosity in supporting this GoFundMe campaign. Your contributions will help cover Jenny's medical expenses and living costs, and allow her children the ability to physically be there for their mom without the additional stress of affording travel expenses. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and shows the power of community and love for this family.
Thank you for taking the time to read Jenny's story and for considering giving to this worthy cause. During this time, we want to show Jenny and her children just how many people care for them—and that while the anticipatory grief of this situation feels insurmountable, they are not alone.
With gratitude,
Shelby and Lorisa
