My name is Jenny,
I am raising donations to help us find some stability. We are in desperate need of a roof over our heads after a fire left us homeless since November. We have been scraping and scrounging to stay in a motel. We get paid and most of the check goes to paying as long as we can on the first. Eight days costs us 540-560 a week. We really need help with affording a motel a little longer.
We have an intake housing appointment but not until April 18th. We have lost virtually everything we owned we do not even have our own pillows and blankets. All any money we get goes into paying for the motel room because we have no were else to go. We have not been able to replace anything that we lost. We do not even have a week worth of clothes. We are lucky if we have three outfits.
My fiancée does not even have a pair of shoes just got out with his flip flops. We have no choice to start all over agian. We lost everything that morning from our clothes to even personal documents. Please help us we are in desperate need and with your donations I will be able to afford to stay and pay the weekly motel that cost. We are unsure when we will be able to move into our new place so, we need to pay as long as possible at the motel.
Things like hygiene and household supplies like cleaners, dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper or any type of necessities where lost. And when everything can spare goes into paying the rent it makes it hard to afford diapers and wipes. The baby lost all her toys, clothes, shoes, bed, blankets, and all her things that she had that we had to go out and find. When she came to live at four months old, she came with hardly anything and it took a while to collect what we did have. And then waking to the smell of burning wires. And trying to soak the mattress and floor with water so the fire would not spread throughout the rest of the house.
Our room was the only place in the house that got destroyed. We lost everything all we owned was in that room. We spent that whole day sifting through our charred belongings into a trash bag. And whatever survived the fire, we tried to pack up and carry as much as we could. And threw out whatever we could before it got dark and we were tired, emotionally and physically drained and were using flashlights to throw out trash. I spent the whole day after the fire in my tore flip flops in a soaked floor with my feet fully exposed to the water used to put out the fire.
We continued to return to the house and continued to get out all the trash and move what we wanted to keep to one side. I received a text message from the owner to clear everything away from the damaged wall so repairs can be done. The next message I received was him telling me that his crew threw whatever we had left in our room outside in the backyard where it had begun to rain. But worse he told us he would not let us return to our room and there was to many people living at that residence. He allowed everyone else back in to live except us. Instead, they threw us away like all of our belongings.
After housing appointment on the 18th, we are going to need to pay the $80 application and credit check fees that we do not have. We will get assistance with our deposit and last month's rent but as far as anything else like furniture, dishes, beds, dressers, pillows, blankets, dishes, cooking pots and pans, kitchen supplies, dog bed and dog toys are all on us to buy. So, whatever is donated just know it means the world to this family. We have nothing and can barely survive struggling and taking it day by day. Under constant stress and trying to still keep a good GPA while being homeless and struggling. My laptop was almost destroyed but luckily it just needs a few repairs that is going to cost $300 in new parts.
The money will also be used to buy food and any other necessities that are needed. We have even offered or time and services to clean houses, yardwork, fixing computers, and even any jobs that people do not want to do just to keep my granddaughter with us. We just need a little help! Good Lord willing. Thank you and God bless.
