If you've been by the O.C., Bistro, or Kenji Burger over the years, Jenny's smiling face has likely greeted you more than once—and no doubt that smile will be missed as she takes time to care for herself in the coming months. Jenny was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma with lobular features, which is the most common type of breast cancer. She will be traveling to Oahu for her scheduled lumpectomy on April 6th, to remove two tumors and surrounding lymph nodes. After surgery, she will endure radiation five days a week for six weeks. Though this news has been a shock, she's treating this diagnosis like just another item on the 'to do' list... She's ready to hustle through it and get back to sharing smiles with her favorite regulars, and caring for any animal that is lucky enough to cross her path. As scary as a cancer diagnosis is, we'd love for you to join us in facing it with so much hope and positivity.

Jenny will need to focus on her recovery, though if you know Jenny, you know her priority will always be working hard to provide her fur babies with the best life possible, in the safety and comfort of the sanctuary she and Dooley have worked so hard to create for them. We all know how deeply she cares for her animals, and also how strong and independent she is... She's a do-it-yourself kind of woman, but I ask for your support because it is a gift that will allow Jenny to proceed with treatment without pushing herself to return to work before her body is ready. Your thoughtful and generous donation will provide peace of mind and truly ease the financial strain of medical bills, travel to Oahu for surgery, and time away from work.
