My name is Jenny Rodriguez, and I came to the United States in 2011. Since 2012, I have dedicated myself to serving my community through volunteer work and activism. Giving back has always been my way of showing gratitude and building hope for others.
I started volunteering at my children’s school, helping in the kitchen to serve breakfast to the kids. Later, I spent time at Centro Las Américas, a daycare for seniors, where I helped the elderly with coloring and other activities.
In 2014–2015, I became a volunteer and member of the 1199 SEIU, the union of Personal Care Attendants (PCAs), where I joined the fight for fair wages, helping secure the $15/hour increase. I also became an active member of the TPS Committee (Temporary Protected Status) both in Massachusetts and at the national level, even traveling to Washington D.C. to advocate at the Capitol.
I helped organize a COSECHA Massachusetts chapter in Worcester, working tirelessly for driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants. I’ve volunteered with Catholic Charities Food Pantry, supported mobile consulates for El Salvador (8 years), the Dominican Republic (2 years), and Ecuador (1 year), and created a community chat with over 700 members to share important resources. For the past five years, I have organized flag-raising ceremonies in my city for El Salvador, Central America, Ecuador, Venezuela, and more. I’ve also been a catechist at San Pedro Church in Worcester.
Community service has always been at the center of my life. Unfortunately, I recently suffered a car accident, and for the first time, I find myself in need of help. This fundraiser is to support my recovery and to ease the financial burden during this difficult time.
I have always believed in compassion, solidarity, and mercy—and now I am humbly asking for your support. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference and help me get back on my feet so I can continue serving the community I love so much.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
